Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I know exactly what I want… so why isn’t it happening?”
Many of us think lasting change comes down to more discrete goals, motivation, or just trying harder. But after years of coaching women through major life transitions, I’ve learned that’s usually not the real problem.
The obstacle isn’t lack of desire or effort. It’s the lens you’re unknowingly looking through.

We Don’t See Reality – We See Our Interpretation of It
This all started from the quote by Anais Nin: “We don’t see things as they are. We see them as we are.”
Listen to the impact of that quote on my path here.
Here’s a fun fact: I spent twenty years as an optometrist helping people see more clearly. And the common thread was that people almost always thought their vision was fine. And why wouldn’t they? It was all they’d ever known. Then I’d slide a new prescription in front of their eyes, and suddenly they could see details they didn’t even know they were missing.
I see the exact same thing in my coaching practice now.
We all look at life through invisible lenses shaped by childhood, relationships, wins, losses, fears, beliefs, and the stories we’ve told ourselves for years. Eventually we do stop questioning them. We assume we’re seeing things as they are.
Most of the time, we’re seeing life through a prescription that expired a long time ago. The discomfort we’re experiencing in our current life is a sign that something needs to change.
Same Situation, Totally Different Life
I can give so many examples of how true this is, but just think about this: picture two people in the exact same circumstance.
One sees unlimited possibilities, a fresh start, a brand-new beginning. The other sees rejection, despair, a dreadful reality. One feels adventure. The other feels danger.
Can you relate?
The funny thing is that nothing about the situation changed. Only the lens did.
That’s why two people can get the same feedback, experience the same setback, walk into the same room, and walk away with completely different experiences. This invisible lens doesn’t just shape what we think. It shapes what we notice, what we believe is even possible, and the choices we ultimately make.
This idea is a lot to embrace! But it’s true.
Why Advice Alone Never Works
This is exactly why advice often falls flat.
You can read every self-help book, binge every podcast, and build the perfect vision board. You can know exactly what needs to change. And still end up repeating the same patterns.
Because this new information doesn’t change the lens you’re living your life through. It just gives your current lens something new to interpret.
Real change happens when you start seeing yourself, and your life, through a different prescription.

So What Is the True Lens Method™?
It’s the framework I built to help women uncover the invisible beliefs running their lives, let go of those that don’t serve, envision the true dreams and desires they have for themselves, integrate into a new way of being, and ultimately to embody their higher selves.
Still, this isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about removing the distortion and stepping into your true self.
And once that happens, change stops feeling like a fight. Clients tell me all the time: “Nothing around me has changed… but somehow everything feels different.”
That’s the lens. Once it shifts, the world looks different too.

You See Differently First. Then You Become Different.
Here’s a misconception that trips up a lot of people: the idea that you have to change your life before you can feel different.
In my experience, it’s the other way around.
You see differently. Most importantly, you see yourself differently. That leads to different decisions. Those decisions turn into different actions. Those actions slowly build a different life.
Transformation doesn’t start with your circumstances. It starts with perception.

Where This Shows Up Often: Finding Love
Our inner lens has a clear impact on how women approach finding love.
I hear it constantly: “I’ve done the work. I know my worth. I’m ready. So why does it still feel so hard out there?”
Interestingly, what I’ve noticed is that most women aren’t stuck because they haven’t met the right person yet. They’re stuck because they’re still meeting every new person through an old lens — one shaped by a past relationship, a parent’s marriage, a rejection they never fully let go of.
And when they’re alone, and quietly with themselves, they don’t truly believe they deserve what they say they want. This blocks them from reaching higher toward that relationship, dream for themselves, etc.
Through the lens they’ve been wearing, a slow reply looks like rejection. And vulnerability looks like danger. So they brace, or they chase, or they leave before they can be left. And they call it intuition, when really it’s an outdated prescription leading the way.
When you can change the lens, dating starts to look different. You may develop a trust in the larger picture. A deeper knowing that what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. Moving into that state allows you to be subtly more receptive to signs and intuition. And the next thing you know, you live in alignment and attract what is meant for you.
This is why “just put yourself out there” isn’t always the best advice. You can go on the dates, join the apps, say yes to every setup and still find the same pattern waiting for you on the other side, because the lens came with you.
Love doesn’t usually show up because you tried harder. It shows up because you discovered it within yourself, and the magnetism of that reflects a new reality back to you.
So Here’s My Invitation
Maybe there’s a place in your life where you feel stuck. The relationship that you deeply desire. A dream of some kind that always feels just out of reach.
Before you ask “What should I do?” – try asking “What lens am I looking through right now?”
Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t a new answer. It’s realizing you’ve been asking the question through an outdated prescription this whole time.
Discover your true lens, one that reflects the unlimited worthiness inside of you, and the possibilities that were there all along finally come into focus.
